Gridfall is Loftia's salvaging district: a concrete jungle on old world ruins, with air rails, skyscrapers, a museum and underground tunnels.
Loftia Gridfall Guide: The Salvaging District
Gridfall is Loftia's third district and its salvaging hub: a concrete jungle built on the remains of the old world, where you ride air rails, scale skyscrapers, read the past in a museum, dance with the locals and dig through secret underground tunnels. It is not in the demo. Ordinary players get it on November 3, 2026, when Loftia's Early Access opens at 1pm EST (November 4, 2026, 02:00 in Beijing time). The only hands-on showing came from the April 2026 closed beta, so the look is known even though the district is locked.
- Status: announced for Early Access on November 3, 2026; first shown in the April 2026 closed beta, joined by 25,000 players.
- Official one-liner: "a concrete jungle built from scraps and love on the remains of the old world".
- Playable now? No. The October 2026 Steam Next Fest demo (October 19 to 26) covers Loftia City and stops before Hanging Gardens.
- District lead: Mita, Gridfall Manager. Air transport is Cliff, the Airtram Operator.
What Gridfall is, in the developers' own words
The official Early Access page names nearly every mechanic people ask about in one paragraph: "Gridfall is Loftia's salvaging district, a concrete jungle built from scraps and love on the remains of the old world. Ride air rails, scale towering skyscrapers, uncover stories of the past at the museum, dance along with the locals, and explore secret underground tunnels with friends!"
The beta announcement says the same thing differently: the new district is "a rustic city with a punk-inspired, industrial aesthetic", and the beta trailer takes you "through all three districts of Loftia". Gridfall is the industrial counterweight to Hanging Gardens, where old-world wreckage is scavenged and rebuilt.

That chart is the most useful official image for a first EA session: the three districts side by side, each with the developers' English blurb and an in-game capture.
The three districts of Loftia side by side
| District | Official description | How you get in | People officially tied to it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Loftia City | Main city, where the demo's opening questline runs | Playable now in the Next Fest demo | Amani, Community Lead Engineer; Ryder, Adventurer |
| Hanging Gardens | A peaceful floating island on the edges of Loftia City: greenery, cozy fishing spots, community farms, a mysterious dark forest | Coming in Early Access on November 3, 2026 | Herb, Hanging Gardens Caretaker |
| Gridfall | The salvaging district: a concrete jungle built from scraps and love on the remains of the old world | Coming in Early Access on November 3, 2026 | Mita, Gridfall Manager; Cliff, Airtram Operator |
Two of the three districts are locked behind Early Access. The Loftia City guide covers the part you can explore today, and the Hanging Gardens guide covers the other.

Five official things to do in Gridfall
Each verb points at a different system.
| Official line | What it means in practice | What it connects to |
|---|---|---|
| Ride air rails | Overhead transport across the towers | Cliff, the Airtram Operator, whose job title matches the transit |
| Scale towering skyscrapers | Vertical exploration on the old high-rises; no route published | Adventure proficiency, group challenges |
| Uncover stories of the past at the museum | A museum about memory, not trophies | Atlas, Museum Curator |
| Dance along with the locals | Social play with the residents | Leela, Kinetic Dance Instructor |
| Explore secret underground tunnels with friends | The underground half of the district | Urbex, plus the salvaging loop |
Salvaging is in the demo, so it is the one part of Gridfall you can prepare now. Learn where Scrambled Coordinates fall from in the salvaging and fragments guide.
Every row lands on November 3, 2026. No official Loftia Gridfall map, floor plan or district number has been published, so do not plan around a route, a drop table or a trailer landmark.
The people who run Gridfall
Six of the fifteen residents in the official roster connect to the district.
| Name | Official occupation | Official character description | Why they matter for Gridfall |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mita | Gridfall Manager | "precise, disciplined, and quietly caring", the "structured twin to Milo's chaos" | She manages the district and its salvaging operation |
| Cliff | Airtram Operator | Trusts protocol over spontaneity | He runs the air transport behind the rails |
| Atlas | Museum Curator | Obsessed with "old-timey slang and fragments of the past" | The museum in Gridfall's description has one curator |
| Leela | Kinetic Dance Instructor | Classes that "generate literal electricity" | The dancing in "dance along with the locals" |
| Milo | Repair Specialist | A "junkyard genius with a golden heart" | The salvage-and-repair theme; his card points to a sister |
| Dr. Marie | Botanical Scientist | Invented Loftia's first hydroponics machine, behind much of Gridfall's horticultural innovation | How a concrete jungle grows food |
Milo and Mita are the pair worth noting: Mita's card calls her "the structured twin to Milo's chaos", and Milo's card says he wants to fix "what's broken between him and his sister". The two descriptions point at each other. The NPC and character list covers all fifteen residents.

How Gridfall feeds the salvaging loop
Gridfall is the salvaging district, so district and loop are one system: what you scavenge from towers, rail yards and tunnels feeds crafting, and the underground half holds the rare resources.
The loop is one of the few systems the demo exposes in full, so it makes good preparation. The official known-issues page states that Scrambled Coordinates have a chance to drop from harvesting any resource node, and the first demo patch clarified where to find them for Ryder's quest and raised the drop chance for that step. The same patch gated the Bloom and the Scrambled Coordinates in the Daily Goodies Chest behind Ryder's intro adventure quest. If fragments refuse to combine, the documented workaround is to drop the pieces and pick them back up.
That is the loop that will drive Gridfall at launch. The salvaging and fragments guide breaks it down in full; the Urbex guide covers the special tool and the rare resources under Gridfall.

What you can verify today in the Next Fest demo
As of the October 2026 Steam Next Fest demo you know Gridfall's concept, its residents and its art direction, but not its layout.
- The demo runs October 19 to 26, 2026 and covers the Loftia City opening questline, ending right before Hanging Gardens.
- Demo systems live: Farming, Decorating, Sharing, Salvaging resources, Adventures and Social.
- Progress and your character name carry over. A demo name is only held for you if you log in between November 3, 2026 and February 3, 2027.
- The demo stood at 220 Steam reviews, 80.9 percent positive and rated Very Positive by Steam, as of October 22, 2026.
- The closed beta of April 22 to May 6, 2026 remains the only hands-on showing of Gridfall.
Take the demo questline, follow the beginner guide, and let the demo carryover guide handle the name.
Gridfall on Early Access day, November 3, 2026
Early Access opens on November 3, 2026 at 1pm EST, which is November 4, 2026 at 02:00 in Beijing time. Gridfall is listed among the features arriving with it, alongside Hanging Gardens, pets, uncapped proficiencies, Hydroponics Stations, adventure gauntlets, more World Projects and Urbex.
The launch is buy-to-play at US$29.99 with regional pricing, and a limited-time 17 percent launch discount brings it to US$24.89. No subscription, no planned paid expansion, and the in-game shop carries cosmetics only. Cross-play is a goal the developers are researching, not a promise, and each platform needs its own purchase; see the release date and preparation guide and the price and buying guide.
The Steam store page categorises Loftia as Partial Controller Support, while the official FAQ says Loftia is fully playable with a controller in addition to keyboard and mouse, and supports the Steam Deck. Both are official, and Gridfall is a vertical district full of traversal, so check the controls and known gamepad issues first.
FAQ
Can I visit Gridfall in the Loftia demo? No. The demo covers the Loftia City opening questline and ends right before Hanging Gardens. Gridfall opens with Early Access on November 3, 2026, and the April 2026 closed beta was the last time the public could walk it.
Is there an official Loftia Gridfall map? Not yet. No map image, floor plan, or listing of skyscrapers, air rail stations or tunnel entrances has been published. The official visuals are the three-district comparison chart from the beta guide and trailer frames of the Ferris wheel and neon blocks.
What is Urbex, and do I need it for Gridfall? Urbex is short for Urban Exploration, the underground layer inside Gridfall. In Early Access you can hop down into underground areas and, with a special tool, collect rare resources and discover hidden nooks and crannies within the Gridfall district. It arrives on November 3, 2026 with the district.
Who do I talk to in Gridfall? Mita as Gridfall Manager, Cliff as Airtram Operator, Atlas as Museum Curator, Leela as Kinetic Dance Instructor, Milo as Repair Specialist and Dr. Marie as Botanical Scientist, credited with much of Gridfall's horticultural innovation. The full NPC list has all fifteen.
Does my demo progress and character name carry over to Gridfall? Yes. All completed quests, collected items and character progression carry into Early Access, and so does your character name, provided you log in between November 3, 2026 and February 3, 2027. After that window the name goes back on the list.
