Official Loftia known-issues list and demo patch notes 1, with fixes for missing seeds, uncombined fragments, gamepad exit and Mac crashes.
Loftia Patch Notes and Known Issues List
As of the October 2026 Steam Next Fest demo, Qloud Games publishes every live demo bug in two official places: the "Steam Next Fest Known Issues" list on the Loftia news page, last updated October 21, 2026 at 10:07 AM, and Demo patch notes #1, published on Steam the same day. The five problems players search for most have official answers today. Seeds that will not show up in your bag are still there: hold R to open the tool wheel and add them from the inventory. Fragments that refuse to combine can be fixed by dropping the pieces and picking them back up. Daily Do Good does not advance when you talk to the Project Bot, so the developers advance it by hand when you post your username in the official Discord thread, and a fix is in testing for the next hotfix. A gamepad cannot quit from the login screen, so exit from the in-world menu. An install on an external drive causes load timeouts and crashes, so move it back to the internal drive.
Check this before you reinstall anything: every entry below comes from the developers' own words, and every workaround is one the studio published.
- Seeds missing from the bag - hold R (or the matching gamepad button) to open the tool wheel, then left-click the item to add it from your inventory.
- Fragments not combining - drop the pieces on the ground and pick them back up.
- Daily Do Good stuck - post your username in the official Discord thread and a developer advances the quest.
- Gamepad dead end on the login screen - quit from the in-world menu instead.
- Long loads, timeouts, crashes - install on the internal drive, not an external one.
Where the official list lives
Loftia keeps no separate support portal for the demo. The known-issues list, the patch notes and the demo rewards all sit in the open on the official news page, which is why most results for "loftia patch notes" point at a changelog with no troubleshooting in it at all.

Every known issue, as a symptom, a status and a workaround
This is the whole official list, rewritten so every row is something you can act on. The status column uses the developers' own framing: already fixed, a published workaround, a fix in testing, or an investigation still open.
| Symptom | Category | Official status | What to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Non-English text reads in the wrong word order | Localization | In progress with Wordkeepers | Read around it, strings are assembled dynamically in game |
| Some UI, quest and placeholder strings stay in English | Localization | In progress with Wordkeepers | Untranslated rather than broken, so keep going |
| Translated text overlaps or displays wrongly in menus | Localization | In progress with Wordkeepers | Screenshot it and report it on the bug report page |
| French notification pop-ups show Oui for both options | Localization | Known issue | The left button is correct, the right one should read Non |
| Settings menus ignore the thumbsticks | Gamepad | Workaround available | Use the D-Pad to navigate and adjust |
| Select Region does not highlight on the login screen | Gamepad | Cosmetic, works anyway | Press the button |
| No way to quit from the login screen with a gamepad | Gamepad | Workaround available | Exit from the in-world menu |
| The Loftia cursor stays visible when you swap mouse and gamepad | Gamepad | Workaround available | Click inside the window to hand control back to the pad |
| Amani's Ready to Rumble ignores skills levelled before the quest | Quests | Workaround available | Level 3 additional skills to clear that stage |
| Scrambled Coordinates are hard to find | Quests | Drop chance raised in patch #1 | They can drop from harvesting any resource node |
| Daily Do Good does not advance when you talk to the Project Bot | Quests | Fix in testing for the next hotfix | Post your username in the Discord thread and a developer advances it |
| Seeds you need or bought from Hazel are not in your bag | Inventory | Workaround available | Hold R for the tool wheel, then left-click the item |
| Item pieces do not auto-combine when you have enough | Inventory | Fixed in patch #1 | Drop the pieces and pick them back up |
| Rain visuals missing while the UI says it is raining | Visual | Cosmetic, rain sound still plays | Ignore the visual gap |
| Background NPCs wander into odd places, hovering in midair | Visual | Known issue, cosmetic | No effect on questing |
| The demo banner uses placeholder art and a placeholder icon | Visual | Known issue, temporary | Cosmetic only |
| Chat notification sounds play at any distance | Sound | Known issue | Lower your own chat volume |
| Older Macs stutter or crash, especially under 16 GB of RAM | Mac | Workaround available | Set graphics to Low |
| An external drive install causes long loads, timeouts and crashes | Performance | Workaround available | Install on the internal drive |
| Groups crash while travelling to a player island | Performance | Under investigation | Travel solo and report the group case |
Everything else here can be worked around inside the game. Daily Do Good cannot: talking to the Project Bot does not advance the quest. The fix is in testing and will deploy in the next hotfix, and until then the developers advance the quest manually if you post your username in the thread linked on the official known-issues page. Do not reset the quest yourself waiting for it, because the hand-advance is the documented path.

The banner in that image is one of the three demo rewards, and it is also the item the known-issues list still calls out as using a temporary placeholder asset and icon.
What patch notes #1 already fixed
Patch notes #1 landed on October 21, 2026, the day after the demo went live, and closed ten bugs. Most map straight onto complaints circulating in the first two days of the Next Fest.
| Fixed in patch notes #1 | Area |
|---|---|
| Being sent back to the login screen when checking House Showcase results | Bug fix |
| Item fragments staying uncombined after collecting enough pieces | Bug fix |
| Being unable to rebind controller buttons while using a controller | Bug fix |
| "A Note from the Team" appearing when opening the Daily Summary | Bug fix |
| Long character-name error messages not wrapping on the login screen | Bug fix |
| Duplicate Pebble and Cliff characters during the crack-reveal cutscene | Bug fix |
| Hair appearing stiff in cutscenes when hair movement is enabled | Bug fix |
| Title-screen settings disabling depth of field during gameplay | Bug fix |
| Maximum CPU usage during shader preparation while loading | Performance |
| Rebalanced audio, including quieter vending machines, rivers, fire pits and Pebble's wave sound | Audio |
The gameplay changes matter as much as the fixes. Scrambled Coordinates now have their location clarified for Ryder's quest and a higher drop chance during that step, matching the known-issues note that they can drop from harvesting any resource node. Bloom and Scrambled Coordinates from the Daily Goodies Chest now unlock only after you finish Ryder's intro Adventure quest, which is why some players could not find Bloom. Solar panels now generate more energy in rain and at night, and most when both happen at once. The tutorial change helps if you are stuck early: the tool wheel prompt now appears during the planting step, stays visible for up to four minutes, and only disappears when you open the wheel, which the studio says should help anyone having trouble finding their carrot seeds.

Gamepad, Steam Deck and Mac
Controller support has two official descriptions worth reading together. The Steam store page lists Loftia under Partial Controller Support, which is store metadata. The official FAQ says Loftia is fully playable with controller or gamepad as well as keyboard and mouse, and also supports the Steam Deck. Both are official, and the practice sits between them: the game is playable on a pad, the D-Pad does the navigation the thumbsticks cannot, and the login screen exit is still missing. The key layout and controller notes are in the Loftia controls and gamepad known issues guide, and handheld setup is in the Loftia on Steam Deck guide.
On Mac the known-issues list is blunt: some older Macs may see performance issues or crashes, particularly with less than 16 GB of RAM, and the recommendation is Low graphics settings. The Steam requirements also list Apple Silicon only, with Intel-based Macs not supported at all, and 8 GB as the minimum memory. Full numbers are in the Loftia system requirements guide. Patch #1 also cut the maximum CPU usage during shader preparation, the spike you see while the game loads rather than while you play.
Localization, and what is still rough
The demo ships in 14 languages on Steam, and the developers publish the quality problems instead of hiding them. They are working with the translation team Wordkeepers on localization quality assurance, and they group the issues into three families: text assembled dynamically in game, which mis-orders outside English; strings still untranslated, including UI elements, quest text and some placeholder content; and translations that do not fit the interface, so they overlap or display incorrectly. The French notification pop-up, where both buttons read Oui and the right one should read Non, is listed separately. More languages are planned after Early Access, including Traditional Chinese and Polish.
Reporting an issue that is not on the list
The demo page sends players to the official bug report page for anything the known-issues list does not cover, and account or progress problems go to the support address in the demo announcement, [email protected]. Server downtime and hotfix notices go up on the official Discord, so check there first if something breaks and the list has not caught up. One practical warning: bind your loftia.gg account inside the game with your email address, because unbound progress cannot be recovered. The Loftia demo progress and carryover guide has the details, including the rule that a character name claimed during the demo is released if you do not log in between November 3, 2026 and February 3, 2027.
What changes at Early Access launch on November 3, 2026
Everything here describes the Next Fest demo, which runs from October 19 to October 26, 2026. Early Access opens on November 3, 2026 at 1pm EST, and the official Chinese site lists the same launch as November 4, 2026 in Beijing time. The demo build is not the build you play at launch, so treat this list as the baseline and re-check the news page on launch day. Features announced for Early Access only, including pets, perk points, Gridfall, the Hanging Gardens, hydroponics stations and super crops, are not covered here because none of them are in the demo to troubleshoot yet. The Loftia release date and Early Access preparation guide has the timeline.
FAQ
Why are my seeds missing from my inventory in the Loftia demo? They are usually not missing. If the seed you need for a quest, or one you bought from Hazel, is not visible in your bag, hold R (or the matching gamepad button) to open the tool wheel and left-click the item to add it from your inventory.
Why do my item fragments not combine even though I have enough pieces? They should combine into the finished item automatically. Patch notes #1 shipped a fix for pieces staying uncombined, and the published workaround still works: drop the pieces and pick them back up. The Loftia salvaging and item fragments guide covers where fragments come from.
Is there any way to quit Loftia from the login screen with a gamepad? Not yet. The official known-issues list says you cannot quit from the login screen with a gamepad, and that you have to exit from the in-world menu instead.
Will the demo bugs be fixed before Early Access launches on November 3, 2026? Some already are. Demo patch notes #1 closed ten bugs on October 21, 2026, and the Daily Do Good fix is in testing for the next hotfix. The rest of the open list, including the localization work, the group housing crash and the Mac stability advice, is expected to keep moving, and the news page is updated as things change.
Is Loftia fully playable with a gamepad or on Steam Deck? The official FAQ says Loftia is fully playable with controller or gamepad as well as keyboard and mouse, and supports the Steam Deck. The Steam store still categorises it as Partial Controller Support, and the known-issues list documents the D-Pad-only navigation and the missing login screen exit, so plan around those two gaps.
